Texas is a global business leader, topping U.S. exports for 22 consecutive years and being the premier destination for foreign direct investment (FDI). With over 1,900 foreign corporations operating in the state, Texas continues to attract international firms due to its strategic location and extensive transportation network, including 19 seaports, 26 commercial airports, and the most miles of public roadways and railways in the nation.
Texas leads the U.S. in high-tech exports and supports over 1 million jobs through trade. Small businesses play a significant role, making up 93% of the state’s 39,000 exporters. The state remains committed to growth, with a $142 billion investment in new roadways and $240 million for port development. Over the last decade, Texas has attracted more than 1,700 new FDI projects, creating $141.7 billion in capital investment and over 158,000 jobs.
In addition, Texas companies have invested in 1,800 international projects, generating $191.5 billion in capital expenditures and 264,000 jobs globally. Major global companies like Samsung, Toyota, and Mitsubishi continue to expand in Texas, further solidifying the state’s position as a trade titan.
